Check in-out is not updated in the EPiServer file manager

Question: I checked out a document in the EPiServer file manager, opened and edited the document i n Word, then saved and did check-in from Word. When I look in the file manager in EPiServer, the document still appears to be checked-out, and when I try to do check-in from the file manager, EPiServer tells me that the document has not been checked-out. Why is this?
Answer: This is most likely caused by the Word browser window still being open, and also due to the fact that EPiServer is a web based application where data displayed in the browser window is only updated when the windows are opened and closed.
Try closing the Word application window when you have updated your document, alternatively right-click in the file manager and chose “Refresh” for the document status to be updated.
